The term “a game of two halves” has already been used this season but could be aptly applied this Saturday, when K Sports entertained Meopham 2nd XI. It was clear in the first half, that the home side’s performance mirrored anything, but the stormy weather as the wind howled and the rain lashed down. In fact it was the Meopham side who matched the weather, as they stormed into a three goal lead.
The team in black were flat, but a measured and frank half time team talk changed the tempo of the team and helped them to kick start their game, albeit at the start of the second half. Partnerships, which have been so instrumental in past matches, suddenly switched back into life, and K Sports were far more competitive. The away side’s defence was split wide open on several occasions, created by some quick, precise passes from midfield, and this helped create chance for the forwards. At the other end the defence were snuffing out any signs of danger.
Despite conceding a fourth close to the final whistle, K Sports will once again take the positives from this encounter, when they travel to play Burnt Ash 6th XI next week.
