From the first whistle, the K Sports Ladies were under pressure from an attacking BBHC. They pressed the Kobs defence line of Nichols, Ayres, Wilson and Wyatt but were unable to penetrate the goal line in the opening quarter.

Midfield were drawn back to assist with the attacking opposition, and player of the match Austin was able to intercept some of the dangerous balls being fired into the D by the opposition. A momentary lapse of concentration allowed a through ball into the defensive D, allowing BBHC to strike a ball just inside the circle, which whistled past the K Sports defence and keeper and hit the backboard.

This did not dampen K Sports spirits, in fact it made them work harder. Eager to claw a goal back, sisters Kerry and Jo Fowler worked extremely hard and covered the majority of the pitch to be able to win the ball from within the K Sports defensive half, and with the support of Percival, McAllan and Wood, a string of seamless passes allowed K Sports to press the oppositions defensive line.

The initial chance came from a strike across the goal-line from Frampton, to only be minimally missed by forwards McAllan and K.Fowler. A second attempt was narrowly missed when Jo Fowler received the ball at the top of the D, then striking it flying at the left bottom post, narrowly going wide by millimetres and also narrowly missing a deflection off of Shona McAllans stick.

Third time lucky, Frampton was able to cross the ball to K.Fowler waiting eagerly on the penalty spot, who was able to control the ball and fire it across the line past BBHCs keeper bringing K Sports back into the game.

Both sides were determined to find the winning goal, however BBHC were the ones that were able to find the final goal of the game. Despite K Sports not giving up and working relentlessly as a team to avoid the loss, there’s just some games that seem to go against you. However, K Sports did not let this dampen their spirits and are ready and determined to find the well-deserved 3 points in next week’s home game.
