Following an excellent performance the week before, where some great team play gave K Sports an easy win, this was to turn out to be a different type of great team performance. From the onset Old Williamsonians pressed and were controlling the play, but K Sports dug in with some resolute defending. The game started to open up a bit and from a long corner James Clarkley hit in a reverse pass that found Dave Wood’s stick and through the keepers legs. 1-0.
Old Williamsonians continued to press, with the game turning very vocal and aggressive the more that K Sports held them off.
In the 2nd half the play continued in the same way. However, with Neil Mitchell running into space hitting the ball into the D, Matt Sharp tipped the ball past the keeper. 2-0.
The game continued getting more and more aggressive with Old Willies seeing a couple of yellow cards late on. They did manage to claim a consolation goal near the end but that’s how it ended.
A great gritty resolute performance by k sports with Michael Nock getting the man of the match for his solid play in the centre of the park.
