K Sports returned to action this week after taking their turn with the league’s rotating week off. Matt Savage came into the side after a lengthy spell out with work commitments, and fitted in seamlessly!

They started off slowly and Old Williamsonians quickly found the edge of their D but soon woke up and surged down the other end to get the first goal from James Dench. A quick break again from Howard Goacher and Andy Stiff saw Andy Smith flick past the onrushing young goalkeeper.

A short corner routine that didn’t go to plan saw K Sports’ young attacker Kai Wilson flick the ball in and add a third to the action. Substitutes were key in staying fresh, and Simon Boniface returned to action after his injury lay off to slide into the midfield, and Ben Chadwick cane roaring down the wings with lightning pace.

James Dench cracked another past the keeper before the halftime whistle came to settle any nerves and kill off any hope of a come back. The halftime talk was clear.. keep working hard, and don’t change the game plan.

Darren Body was incredible alongside Matt Savage at the back and both, the first to admit, not the athletes they’d like to be but you’d be hard pushed to find someone who works harder than these pair! Aaron Divall was kept relatively quiet with the work the team had done for each other.

Luke Boniface showed again why he is the young prodigy of the team, by keeping the opposition right back guessing and he often came up with the wrong answer and Luke on top.

K Sports didn’t hold up with the attacks and Andy Smith swiftly hit two reverse hits to complete a hatrick, and the team found time to snatch another. Andy found the top corner to get the team’s joint highest win this season and take the points.

A point to note is that the team have had a fantastic support from the sidelines this season in all weathers. It really makes a huge difference to the team to be cheered on, and it doesn’t go unnoticed!

Next week the 2s have Maidstone at home with a 12:30 start. Supporters always welcome!
